The Japan Shotokan
Karate-Do Federation offers training in traditional Shotokan Karate-Do, which
emphasizes strong stances and precise techniques. Practice consists of training
in kihon (basics), kata (forms), and kumite (sparring). Kata are choreographed
sequences of techniques against imaginary opponents. All sparring is non-contact
or light contact.
The US branch of
JSKF, based in the Washington state, is a non-profit
organization which has dojos around the world.
The trainings are held by Toshiaki Namiki Sensei (9th dan, Chief
Instructor of the JSKF), a world-class instructor who has taught thousands of
students in Japan, Europe, and the United States.
